Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Carolina Renegades!  As you begin your search for a club that is right for your family and player, you may have some questions.  We have answered some of the most common inquiries below, but should you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.  We are glad to provide any information you may need to make the correct decision.  We can be emailed at  [email protected]

  • Do players have to try out for a team?

Yes.  The club has posted tryout dates each year.  If a player is not available for the scheduled dates, they may contact us at [email protected] to see if a makeup date can be scheduled.

  • Is there a fee to try out?

There is a try out fee of $30 per player. (Non-Refundable)

  • Do I need to register for tryouts or can I just show up?

It is best that you register for tryouts as soon as possible.  This will create a registration number for your child that will be given them to wear at tryouts.  It makes the sign in process easier and smoother once you arrive at the facility.  It also allows us to plan for proper staffing for player evaluation.  You can register your player(s) at our website: and choose the “register” button in the upper right hand corner.

  • When does season start / end?

Our seasons are based on a one-year program.

Fall league season (U8 - U18) begins in late August with practice and league games running September through November.

Winter Futsal Season (U8 -U18) - Begins in December and ends in January.

Spring league season (U8 - U14 Teams) begins in mid January with League games starting early February and ending early May.

During breaks  (summer), we plan optional camps and clinics for the players. Detailed schedules are provided to each team based on age, level, and ability.

  • Where does the club practice?

Teams presently practices at one of our facilities:

 • Providence Wesleyan Church located at 2098 State Road, Summerville (In the Cane Bay / Goose Creek area)

 • Technical Session / Winter League (ISOL- CHARLESTON CITY FC) - 3337 Business Cir. (North Charleston)

  • Where and when are games scheduled?

Younger teams typically play in the Tri-County area / Myrtle Beach / Savannah.  Games are normally scheduled for Saturdays.

Older teams (U13 and above) will travel all over the state depending on teams that play in the league. Games will be scheduled for Saturday and some Sundays.

  • How many days a week do teams practice?

Teams will practice 3 times per week. (2 Team Sessions / 1 Technical Session) Practice schedules are announced to individual teams after teams are set.

  • When are teams finalized?

After tryouts, coaches review player evaluations and form teams. This normally takes about a week to complete. Throughout the year, if there are openings on teams and a player wishes to join, a tryout date is set for evaluation and the player will be notified within the week as to the results.

Player dues are based on a yearly commitment and vary per age group.
